We advise you to shave regularly (at least 3 times as week) with this shaver for a period of 3 weeks to allow your skin to adapt to the new shaver. Move the shaving heads over the skin, making circular movements. Shaving on a dry face gives the best results. Cleaning your shaver: do not clean under a tap, use the cleaning brush to clean the shaver. Take the shaving heads apart by pushing the sides of the central spring towards each other. Then lift the retaining frame out of the shaving unit. Slide the shaving heads out of the retaining frame. Do not mix up the cutters and the guards. This is essential since each cutter has been ground with its corresponding guard for optimal performance. If you accidentally mix up the sets, it could take several weeks before optimal shaving performance is restored. Clean each cutter and guard separately with the short-bristled side of the brush to remove the hairs. Slide the shaving heads back into the retaining frame and put the retaining frame back into the shaving unit. Replacing batteries: remove the lid of the battery compartment. Remove the empty batteries. Place two batteries in the battery compartment. Note: Make sure the + and - indications on the batteries match the indications in the battery compartment. Put the lid of the battery compartment back onto the appliance. First insert the top part of the lid and then press down the bottom part until you hear a click. The appliance runs on two R6 AA 1.5-volt batteries. Preferably use Philips alkaline batteries. Make sure that your hands are dry when you insert the batteries. Model and serial number of the shaver: you can find the model number on the backside of the shaver. You can find the serial number in the hair chamber of the shaver. Remove/replace the shaving heads: to remove the shaving heads: switch off the shaver. Press the release button and remove the shaving unit. To remove the retaining frame, push the sides of the central spring towards each other. Then lift the retaining frame out of the shaving unit. Slide the shaving heads out of the retaining frame. Remove the guard from the cutter. To place the shaving heads back: place the cutters back into the guards. Slide the shaving heads back into the retaining frame.
