The lens construction consists of two molded glass aspherical elements and one hybrid aspherical element to effectively correct distortion and spherical aberrations to ensure a high degree of image quality with images that are sharp, in focus and accurate rendering, and other elements such as two LD (Low Dispersion) elements to reduce colour fringing, BBAR (Broad-Band Anti-Reflection) Coating to ensure that reduces internal reflections, flare and ghosting. The lens also features a VC Image Stabilisation that helps reduce the appearance of camera shake especially when photographing handheld; a Moisture-Resistant construction which is great for inclement weather conditions; an RXD (Rapid eXtra-silent stepping Drive) motor that delivers a fast, quiet and smooth focusing performance; and a rounded nine-blade diaphragm that contributes to stunning bokeh quality.
